Samurai 21
On Thursday night, we went down to the temple with Barbara and "The Pearl". The session was really nice, and uncrowded. Bubby had been talking to Babsy, and Babsy mentioned that she had been out to lunch with Uncle Bill at Samurai 21. I think that put the thought into Bubby's head, because that was her pick for dinner after the temple. Our chef was outstanding, and did the whole "flip the preparation bowls into your chef's hat" trick. He really poured it on for Barbara. This was she and Earl's first experience, and while they were a little apprehensive at the start, we had a wonderful meal.
Barb doesn't do the chop stick thing, but I told that the food tastes better when eaten off of them, so she made our chef give her a children's set, as you can see in the photo. We had steak (fillet mignon)and Bubby and Earl had some shrimp, too. I did see something I want to try next time. The other couple at our habachi had sushi called a "Vegas roll". It had veggies, cream cheese, rice, nori, and was fried in a tempura batter. It looked interesting. Maybe we will have to go again when Daniel is here.
This morning, we picked the garden. Bubby took all of the roma tomatoes and made a huge bowl of salsa, however, what you see in this photo is the non-roma tomatoes we picked. They are coming on strong, as are the peppers. The beans are finally starting to slow down, although there are still some blossoms present.
Bubby hooked up with Big K while I went to work, and she made a small batch of dilly beans. She had not yet fixed her hair or face, so she did not want to pose with her product. I went over to work this morning and tried to finish up my annual faculty evaluation documents. I got stuck on one of them, so I gave up with one and one half to go.
Babsy and the kids are on their way to spend the afternoon. Daniel called last night from Golden, CO, and they will be in Provo tonight. It will be a happy reunion for Mr. Andrew. We watched a good movie last night called "Dear Frankie".
